PIERRE CARDIN

PALAIS BULLES - The new Cardin spring/summer collection carries us away through a contemporary story of someone, who spends a day in Pierre Cardin’s famous Bubble Palace in Cannes. According to different lights, different phases of this day, comes different mood of this someone, who could be you!

Illusion or reality, the collection inspired from the Palais Bulles, its curves, the sun of the Provence and the chic of the red carpet in Cannes, brings us to a place, thousands of kilometers away from China.

The collection contains three episodes:

Morning: expresses itself through casual sports wear, knitwear, sweat-shirt, polo-shirt, perfect look for morning exercises. You will find the colors of rainbow and of course, the blue azure all the way through.

Midday: swimming wear, beach dresses and linen trousers in some typical colors of the south of France: orange, red, yellow, green and plum… today’s weather: HOT!

Night: Cannes by night, from Casino to stars’ parties, tuxedos and cocktail dresses, satin jackets and trousers, evening gowns. Apart from the traditional “black and white”, many colorful fabrics especially flowers that represent the southern France are being used for this theme. You are in a Van Gogh painting, dazzling in the starry night!

Cardin works with cotton and linen, nylon and silk. We find some vintage cut, but Cardin’s traditional red, white and black are combined with all the palette of the south.

The Provencal influence can be found by the color of golden-orange and sunflowers, which are hand stitched adorn the dresses for an “haute couture” effect. The lavender blue dyes the thin silk ties in shaded tones, ethereal ornaments, square or diamond-shaped, to ornate dark suits.

For the first time Pierre Cardin presents in China a range of modern swimming wear for men and women. Combining hoods, sailor knots or buttons, cut out geometry, which, evidently, shows Cardin spirit.

The 40-minute show is projected in a replica of the Palais Bulles’ amphitheater, created under Mr. Cardin’s instructions by the genius architect Antti Lovag more than 30 years ago, known by its curves that remind us of different parts of a human body, Palais Bulles has become a super IN venue for stars to party during the annual Cannes Festival.

The stage is surrounded by a 45-meter long screen, projecting images of Palais Bulles according to the mood and the time of the day. In the end, it leads us to an encounter of love. The climax is something between myth and reality!
